Time is passing by so fast, that sometimes you just can close your eyes, turn around and wake up in totally different place or reality. Last year, or maybe even years, was like this for me. Somehow my life make circle – in July I left Estonia after my last trip there, now I’m going back.
This from Estonia to Estonia way of measuring time is not just about this beautiful place, but also about all this beautiful things what happened in the meantime.
Just after I came back from Erasmus and July’s trip, I got offer to write a guidebook about Estonia. Now the book is available in bookstores in Poland. In winter I arrived in the United States. I spent there five months – sometimes just ok, sometimes amazing. Now, after few weeks in Poland I’m going to Estonia for another month.
I realized that it will be my 4th July in Estonia. The first one, 5 years ago was just a trip. The second one I spent learning Estonian at the Tallinn University (Tallinn Summer School). Last year I enjoyed beauty of Estonian folklore during Song and Dance Festival. This year I’m going there to serve an internship in the Polish Embassy.
I hope that I’ll have time and opportunities to get to know Estonia even better. There are a few places that I really want to go – Tartu, Pärnu, Haapsalu, Viljandi etc. There is impressive folk fest in Viljandi in the end of the month and other interesting events in Tallinn. And there is of course beautiful Estonian nature! I can’t wait for it all.
But, I have different thoughts about this trip. Internship is just internship, but I’m confused about time what I’ll spend there after hours and during weekends. During Erasmus, I get used to the situation that all the time somebody is laughing with me. I’m afraid that the “Estonian dream” will dispel if I won’t have friends with me. So, I hope dear Estonia, that you’ll help me with explorations!;)
